One of the roofs of the Gurruchaga Educational Complex in Rosario collapsed this Monday, in the middle of classes, as it could not withstand the water accumulated by the rains of the last few hours, so more than a hundred students were removed by their parents without that personal injuries were recorded. The roof of the Gurruchaga School, located in Salta at 3400 Rosario, collapsed due to the large amount of water accumulated by the intense rains this Monday and last Sunday, according to sources from that educational institution. Four classrooms were affected by the fall of the masonry, in the middle of classes, so more than a hundred students were withdrawn from the School by their parents. The vice director of the institution, Pablo Coppa, in dialogue with Channel 3 of Rosario, said that as soon as the roof collapsed "we immediately interrupted the electrical current in that sector, not in the rest of the school that was recently made new." As the manager explained, the problem originated when "a gutter did not withstand the weight of the accumulated water" in the last few hours due to the rains that have been falling since last Sunday in this region. After noting that “everything is under control,” Coppa nevertheless explained that “we must be attentive to these things, in the face of a climate phenomenon as unforeseen and violent as the one that happened.” Finally, the vice director of the Gurruchaga School announced that he will ask the Educational Assistance Fund to carry out "waterproofing reinforcements to avoid" this problem, but clarified that "we are talking about a building that is more than 100 years old."
