A mechanic was killed by a bullet in the head by two thieves when he came to the defense of a neighbor and tried to recover the motorcycle that had just been stolen from him, in the Buenos Aires district of Ituzaingó, police and judicial sources reported this Wednesday. There are still no suspects arrested in the case and the motorcycle that ended up being stolen from the victim was found abandoned five blocks from the crime scene. The event happened shortly after 9 p.m. last Tuesday at the intersection of Caaguazú 2500 and Bertole streets, in Ituzaingó south, in the west of the Buenos Aires suburbs. There, the victim, identified by the police as Ariel Charrutte (34), was in his mechanical workshop, which he shares with a friend, when they both witnessed how two armed criminals stole the motorcycle from a newsstand on the block. The criminals, according to witnesses, were unable to start the white Gilera that they had stolen from the neighbor and began to shoot it away, a sequence that was recorded by a security camera. Under these circumstances, Charrutte and his partner got on their motorcycle - a 150-cylinder Corven Triax - and went out to chase the thieves with the intention of recovering the vehicle that they had stolen from the newsstand.
