This shows a significant increase compared to the same survey carried out in June 2019, when only 33.7% had responded that they used virtual wallets and online channels to pay for services; and also regarding another in June 2020, when 48.4% answered affirmatively to the same question. "While some cultural patterns associated with the use of cash are still dominant in certain areas of daily life, the growth that digital media has had in paying, selling and managing everyday finances has been phenomenal," said Juan Pablo Bruzzo, CEO of MONI, the company in charge of the data from the online survey of more than 2,400 clients. According to the survey, the most chosen option for paying for services was with "online platforms" (61.9%), followed by "automatic debit" (23%), payment in "payment service locations" (12. 7%), payment by "ATM" (1.3%) and, lastly, payment at a "bank teller" (0.2%). The sustained growth of this payment method over time marks a change in trend in user preference, given that in the June 2019 measurement, the most chosen option (40.3%) by Argentines was Pay your bills at physical locations in the payment networks.
