With various activities, the city of San Luis celebrates its 429 years

The city of San Luis celebrates this Friday the 429 years of its foundation that coincide with the Day of San Luis Rey de Francia and, among the acts to celebrate it, the Bishop of the province, Monsignor Gabriel Barba, led the main celebration of the day in the Cathedral Church with the traditional homily in which he mentioned the "poverty" of material goods and "dignity".

Barba assured that the concern of the Patron of the City was placed on "the weak" and the search for "a greater good".

"San Luis Rey teaches us to love by loving," he said and called to follow the example of the Saint to ask the province for "protection" and "care" for him.

"To those who suffer the most, for material reasons, for not having enough to live with dignity, but also those who suffer for having lost their dignity in its different forms. Salvation is precisely the call to full dignity," he assured.

With the religious ceremony, the provincial government and the Municipality of San Luis began the activities centered in Plaza Pringles, where ballets, artists, and local folkloric groups perform.

In addition, a food court with a fair for artisans and entrepreneurs of the social economy was installed.
